Bill Bolton

Bill Bolton

AquaEye Ambassador - ATTSAR

Bio

In the 1970s William was drafted into the Rhodesian army to serve in the capacity firstly as a soldier and in addition as a Paramedic. Fully qualified as a soldier and in advanced tactical and anti-terrorist affairs, he would be posted on the frontline to respond to terrorist attacks and administer advanced medical treatment until the casualty could be evacuated to a medical facility. Often accompanying the casualty in both land and air evacuation.

Later, in Canada, after his 18 years in police service, William left to refine his skills more in canine and searches.

In 2013 he formed a volunteer search and rescue group in the region, as there was none, Advanced Tactical Training Search and Rescue. Drawing from his military and police experience, he worked with international knowledge and sources to create a training programme that would work as a standard in conjunction with other similarly formed groups. Having received a dog for searches he went on numerous courses, including Obedience Level 1&2, tracking, air scent, and Human Remains Detection – ground and water.

To advance the group further, he introduced UAVs to the unit, being one of the few pilots to achieve his FAA-107 and Transport Canada certification, finally becoming a UAV examiner for Transport Canada.

Phil Jones

Phil Jones

AquaEye Ambassador - Beneath the Surface

Bio
Phil is Founder and Team Leader of the only voluntary sonar and dive missing person search team in the UK, Beneath The Surface.
An avid diver, Phil is qualified to Rescue and Public Safety Diver standards, and with a desire to help people in need, Phil created the team in 2019. Beneath the Surface was created to be a cost-free resource to offer assistance to people in distress, those missing loved ones, and to Emergency Services.
Since then the team has travelled the UK alongside their full time careers and has been able to bring closure to many families, reuniting them with their loved ones.
Often working directly for the families, Phil and the team are well aware that even in the tragic circumstance of a drowning, a quick recovery is important to reduce weeks of additional distress for families waiting to hear their loved one has been found.
With that in mind, Phil continually looks for innovative water rescue equipment to improve their efforts and became aware of AquaEye, a piece of equipment that quickly became top of the wishlist.
Downtime is rare but on those odd occasions Phil can be found in warmer, clearer waters exploring new places.
